From Backyard Brilliance to Tour-Level Training

PuttingMaster® was born from a friendship between a short game savant and a PGA professional. What started as an offhanded conversation became a performance breakthrough.

Kornel's Story

Kornel Heard has always been fascinated by the small details that make a big difference. Known among his peers for his short game mastery and his skill in Lean Sigma Six, Kornel spent years developing drills and challenges that pushed the boundaries of focus and finesse. His inventive practice style often raised eyebrows—especially when he began using smaller balls and aiming at impossibly small targets. But the results spoke for themselves: razor-sharp accuracy and near-flawless touch on the green. Kornel wasn’t just training differently—he was training smarter. And he knew he was onto something bigger.

Steve Henderson

Steve Henderson, a veteran PGA professional and performance strategist, saw Kornel’s video of this unique putting practice and immediately recognized its potential. With years of experience helping players refine their mechanics, Steve understood that Kornel’s method wasn’t just unorthodox—it was effective. He also knew it could be translated into a repeatable, scalable system that would benefit players far beyond Kornel’s personal circle. He reached out, intrigued and excited, and the two quickly found common ground in their obsession with excellence.

Together, Kornel and Steve began testing, refining, and optimizing what would become the PuttingMaster® J316. They built and rebuilt prototypes, measuring results with data and tracking performance gains. What started as a one-man practice tool evolved into a commercial-grade training system used by golfers across all levels. The numbers were impossible to ignore: Kornel’s average putts per hole dropped to 1.55, a stat typically reserved for the highest levels of competitive golf.

Today, the PuttingMaster® J316 is trusted by players at every stage—from high school hopefuls to seasoned pros. What started as a grassroots idea on a California green is now a trusted method, rooted in science and driven by passion.

"We knew if it could reduce Kornel's average putts per hole to 1.55, it could help anyone."
